Jim's job is to facilitate communication between EHS and the campus community. This is pursued through a number of channels: multimedia (video, social media, etc.), events, online learning, outreach campaigns, instructional materials and websites.
"I appreciate the variety of work I am able to do and that I have an important role in supporting EHS’s mission of making Princeton University the best possible place to study, work and play," he says.
What Does "Environmental Health and Safety" Mean to You?
Lynne: To me, EHS represents a group of skilled individuals who are passionate about making Princeton University a safe environment for all who spend time here.
Mike: At first, it just meant working at EHS—just another job. But now, understanding what EHS does and how BIG of a role they play in the daily movements and events of the entire campus community, EHS means a lot to me. Every day I feel like I’m helping to keep the Princeton University community safe. Just doing my small part for a larger community.
Jim: I came into this job with content and website management experience, and no previous background in health and safety. What I have learned from my colleagues here at EHS is that the pursuit of a safe working and learning environment is grounded in building connections and trust. The relationships maintained by EHS across departments and disciplines are central to our mission as we seek to promote a culture of safety built on openness, collaboration and learning from best practices, shared successes and past challenges.
